Ramón Villa (1949) is a multi-faceted artist who, starting with sculpture, moved on to painting and from there to all kinds of disciplines such as illustration and silk-screen printing. He held his first exhibition in 1970 and since then he has participated in hundreds of individual and collective exhibitions. In his career, he has won prizes such as the Gold Medal at the 20th National Painting Competition in Luarca or the «Cultural Integration 2000» prize in Montevideo.
Culture without frontiers is the permanent action in the creation and life of Ramón Villa, a maxim he shares with the Gordoncillo Town Hall and its philosophy in its cultural programme.
About this exhibition, which includes 36 works, Ramón Villa declares «I return to the creative process going back to my first gestures, to my signs of identity, and in each restart I will be polishing defects that will bring my works closer to the non-existent perfection».
